Why We Track Your Pain Response Over Time and What It Reveals

“Why do you keep asking how much it hurts? Isn’t that obvious?”

We get this question often and the answer is: it’s not about pain. It’s about progress.

At SoftWave Vitality, we don’t just treat symptoms; we track biological change. That’s why we ask you to rate your discomfort and sensitivity at each session. It’s not to annoy you, it’s to monitor how your body is responding at the cellular level.

Pain Response is Equal to Inflammation Level

The pressure required to produce pain during a SoftWave session tells us how inflamed or sensitized the tissue still is.

  • High sensitivity = active inflammation

  • Lower sensitivity = reduced inflammation and improved tissue health

What We’re Looking For

Session

What We Often See

1–2

High pain response = active injury

4–5

Decreased sensitivity = inflammation decreasing

6–8

Very low or no discomfort = tissue stabilizing

10+

High pressure needed to elicit pain = healing complete

This change isn’t imagined, it’s a real physiological shift.
We’ve had patients start at intensity level 9 and end at level 16 with no discomfort; a sign that tissue is structurally repaired.

It’s More Than Pain; It’s Progress Tracking

Pain scores and pressure feedback:

  • Help us adjust your treatment intensity

  • Reveal inflammation trends

  • Confirm regeneration milestones

  • Give YOU proof that healing is happening

Your Body is Speaking. We’re Listening.

Every session gives us more insight into your healing and how to support it better.
